Dev spotlight
No dev spotlight this week either.
I might have reconsider the weekly blog updates. I use a lot of time just to come up something for the weekly update, and often I merely flounder with a topic and don't manage to create anything post worthy. The constant stream of blog updates also buries the more worthwhile blog posts with these ones that basically a weekly excuse how I have no real content for the blog.
Even with the character workshop I have trouble just formatting or presenting the writing process without just simply repeating what I've written of the character. The writing process becomes quickly monotonous from an outside perspective because you can only plan/design so much until process is just write, edit, write, edit, write, etc.
Still working on V3.
Eh, I wouldn't mind if you stopped, personally. Just post what you feel like, man. Don't feel obliged to churn out these posts just to make the blog look good, if they're eating up so much time, and energy for you. I just want an update every week or two saying that you're alive still, lol.

ReplyDeleteI'm totally fine with just "I am alive and working on V3, fret not" most weeks, and larger posts when you feel like it.

ReplyDeletejust wanted to say that TeraUrge is an amazing game! the combat that's remeniscent of fallout 1&2, the art style that's really unique but still conveys everything and looks great, the writing for the characters and the dialogue choices, and the way you move around on the world map is pretty great(and the looks of the map itself.
also the unique characters and species in the game( and you're like the only person doing xeno stuff) also the lore and worldbuilding are both really cool. [deleted and reposted my comment so i could edit it in case you were curious]
You know a weekly update can be something short and sweet just like this one. While yes it becomes a bit of a chore to keep it up it is always great to know things are happening.
ReplyDeleteAlso consider that while i was truly mesmerized with all the insights of your creative process it is just ridiculous to expect you to keep that level of interaction on the long term.
Give us a sign you are still alive and well; and tell us a story whenever you feel like it.
Easy does it. Kudos for all the great work so far.
drop the updates if its detracting from the dev process. I'd rather get the game than small updates that don't contribute to the end goal.

ReplyDeleteThe art updates have been incredible anyway, more than happy to wait for V3, just take your time and don't stress about having to come up with stuff for the blogs man. Really want to see this succeed, love this game, nothing else like it out there.

I mean just post whatever you feel like posting, man. You're already working on Teraurge so much, it's no fun to pile more on that and make your blogs a chore. The blog posts should be a kind of destresser and means of connection. I'm sure most of are just happy to know you're still around.
